had to sit through an hour long announcement of the 4 new mandatory courses we all have to follow over the next few months

well
that was the dumbest thing ive ever had to sit through for work... down to trying (emphasis fucking there) to get us to sing along with stupid safety songs (they actually hired someone to come sing those songs and drag unwilling victims into the spotlight too)

either the people planning this shit really love kiddie parties... or they have a very insulting opinion on the intelligence of blue collar workers

fuck me.... i swear if they try to make roleplay about how to confront a co worker about wearing his safety gear....

every few months i have to run these stupid courses designed to take 30 minutes that are about passwords, security, work email confidentiality, etc.

and they’re all cheesy AF.  blow through them in 5 minutes... common sense.

Any changes she wants to see in my department she is (by contract) supposed to communicate them to me and then I am responsible for enacting them.

Instead, she’s doing shit like (poorly) rewriting my department’s schedules behind my back , and then by the time I notice the changes she’s made the schedule is already posted and now I have to go around begging 12 people to change their shifts so we can get the coverage we need.

She’s also instructed me on multiple occasions to violate company policy , and will say one thing in front of me and and then the complete opposite in front of the other admins

Luckily our schedules are written in a payroll app that tracks what users made changes, so I had proof of her meddling to bring to the union and the other managers. They’re all in agreement that she’s out of line.

She’s one more infraction away from an official reprimand, and if she continues after that she’ll have some of her responsibilities stripped.

You need to be more passive aggressive about it. Make sure the boss goes through with scheduling the safety-sing-a-long, and schedule your vacation at the same time so you don’t have to sit through it.

I just finished the office on Netflix. I had missed some episodes I’ve the years, so it was nice to watch them back to back. So much this whole thing you’re talking about. And I thought our ethics and harassment video trainings were silly. I think I’d have slapped a bitch if we had to sing along. The safety videos are bad enough. But at least those we can sit back and go all “ mystery science theater 3000”  on while were in training.

True , but if you have documented proof of her actions it removes any he said she said nonsense and it’s easier to drop the dime on her because you can “innocently” check with another supervisor to make sure her requests are within reason. Other people see what she is doing and so she looses any opportunity to lie about what she asked you to do.
